Senior Vice President Katie Parsons

Katie Parsons is a Senior Vice President at 270 Strategies who specializes in addressing complex global issues, such as climate change, the economy of the future, and internet health. Katie is a senior advisor to candidates and campaigns in Europe, the Levant, Africa, Southeast Asia and North America. She has lived and worked extensively in eleven countries across four continents.

Recently, she managed the “most thorough” post-election assessment of Democratic House and Senate performance ever conducted. In the 2020 cycle, Katie supported Democratic voter protection efforts on election day and during the extended counting period. Other recent projects include managing a mayoral campaign for a major global city, helping to re-elect a president in Southeast Asia, and advising campaigns in the 2019 South African and Israeli elections. 

Before 270 Strategies, Katie was Deputy Program Director at The Climate Reality Project, founded by former Vice President Al Gore, where she developed training and advocacy programs for more than 3,500 Climate Leaders living in 97 countries. Prior to that, she was Director of Strategic Projects for the Repower America campaign, an effort to pass climate legislation during the early years of the Obama administration. 

Katie began her work as an organizer in 2008 as a Field Organizer and Regional GOTV Director for President Obama’s campaign.

She is President of the board of the Seminary Co-op Bookstores in Chicago – leaders in the effort to reshape independent bookstores for the 21st century. She is also an Atlantik-Brücke Young Leader and a member of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung’s Global Atlanticists. 

Katie holds a masters degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po Paris, with a specialization in European and Russian political affairs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
